  1. Many employers offer a deferred processing payment program. This is actually a way to get paid while you’re not working, isn’t that wonderful? Obviously, you will have to make concessions, because your salary will be reduced by a set percentage during a certain period so that you can continue to receive pay during your leave. 

For example, for 4 years you will receive 80% of your salary. In the 5th year, you won’t need to work and you will still be paid 80% of your salary. Of course, if you take 3 or 6 months of leave, your salary will be reduced accordingly.

Many believe that they will not be able to live on a lower salary, but they often forget the tax impact. A 20% drop in your gross salary does not equal a 20% drop in your net salary. The calculation is often surprising. It is even more so when it comes to a drop of just 10%. It’s worth finding out.
